More crowds in the square north of the Ufizzi

Luckily, I didn't have to deal with this crowd except to walk through it back to my hotel. I was up before dawn today to watch the sun rise over the river and the empty streets. Since I had such a good jump on the day, I got in line for the Ufizzi Gallery before it opened, thinking I could efficiently reserve a ticket for tomorrow. Turns out I was in the wrong line and I had to do my museum visit on the spot--wearing the tank top I had slept in and a pair of shorts that I snatched out of the laundry pile in my rush to get out before the sun came up. Apart from my attire, it was a perfect visit, though--I opened up the museum, so there were no crowds or congestion in any of the gallery rooms. I didn't hit foot traffic until I was leaving the museum after 11 am, when I ran into all of this craziness. The crowds don't bother me as much here as they did in Rome because here it's possible to avoid the worst of them and still be seeing interesting stuff.
